Class IX-C conducted the morning assembly on 13 December 2017. The theme selected for the same was ‘Human Rights day’. Every year, since the adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 by the UN General Assembly, 10 December is observed as the International Human Rights Day. The compere contemplated sense of awareness for the need to safeguard the rights of all humans equally and ensure that values like empathy and justice continue to be the guiding force of our development. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. The Assembly began with the Morning Prayer followed by a thought read out by Tanish Goyal. Radhyanshi Arora presented a Poem on Equality by Maya Angelou. Throughout Equality, it traced clear themes of discrimination, which line up with Angelou’s public contributions towards the fight for civil rights. These performances were followed by a quiz conducted by Sambhav Goel. The Assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
