“Success tastes sweeter and shines brighter, when it is achieved with perseverance and endurance”.

Our young Goenkans held their heads high in the air after their zealous achievements in diverse events on Sports Day organised for the students of classes III-V from 19 to 21 December, 2018. ‘Verve-the zest for victory’ saw aspirations fly high as it gave an astounding opportunity to all our budding athletes achieve laurels in the field of sports. As the school promotes holistic development of children, the event ensured 100% participation of each student. Such valuable opportunities enable the children to explore and enhance their physical potentialities and hidden talent.

The event began with the release of balloons and ribbon cutting by Madam Principal. The torch lighting ceremony was held to glorify the event and embrace it with bright hues. Our National level skating Champions were felicitated for their incredible triumph. Cheerful faces and hopeful eyes of athletes and their parents spread the playful vibes all around. Children’s strenuous efforts under the superlative guidance of their diligent teachers prepared them well for each event as the budding sports buffs competed zestfully in the events of skating, hoop race, three legged race, hurdle race, relay race and TT ball balancing race. It was phenomenal to boost their balance, teamwork and cooperation. Madam Principal, Madam Incharge and all the parents were stunned by the jaw-dropping performances of Aerobics, Calisthenics, Zumba and our bubbly cheerleaders. The colourful dresses, tied up ponies and chubby cheeks gave everyone present a reason to smile. The Taekwondo, Judo and Yoga demonstrations matched the flamboyance of any other performance. Infact, they bagged a thunderous applause for their amazing attacks and flexible yoga postures. The crowd was filled with enthusiastic parents who portrayed physical strength and valour by participating in different races namely, Burst me not, My Daddy Strongest and Squeeze Me. It was incredible to watch them participate with great vigour emanating the feeling to be ‘the winner’. Everyone put their heart and soul to bag a position in their respective event. The air was filled with resonating applause when Madam Principal felicitated all the winners.
