Cinema not only engages one wholly, with both sensitivity and sensibility, but also unravels through keen observation what is latently present in the society. To inherit positive values with visual aid of cinema is learning for a lifetime. Keeping the same in mind, a workshop on ‘School Cinema’ was organised by LXL ideas on March 10 and 16, 2018 for the school faculty to enable them to promote these life skills in students. The participants got first-hand experience of film-based learning modules on life skills, values and attitudes as they were shown a few award-winning movies. Critical thinking and sharp observation skills were harnessed through a positive appraisal of values as depicted in the movies. The engrossing workshop aimed at effective implementation of this path-breaking technology that can create immense value for students, parents and educators alike through short films, thought-provoking workbooks and engaging activities.
