In an endeavour to enable the students to attain an optimum state of health, the GD Goenka Group of schools initiated a trend of experiential learning by integrating the subjects at the primary level through the power of sports. An insightful online training session was conducted for the faculty members by Ms. Chandeep Marwah, on 09 April 2022, to acquaint them with the benefits of physical education cards and how the information on the cards supports the teaching-learning process. The concept of PEC – Physical Education in Curriculum aimed to execute and create games in tandem with the primary school curriculum. It is a collaborative venture between CBSE and the British Council. The twin objectives of sports development, increased level of student engagement, and active learning leading to the overall development of the child were discussed.

The resource person discussed the importance of physical education for young children and how the pandemic has affected their motor skills. The fun activities would allow children to develop agility, balance, and coordination. A PEC card (physical education card) was also shown which consisted of the activity, equipment, variation of the activity, and integration with other subjects. It was a very insightful session for all the teachers.
