Three faculty members from Mathematics department attended a workshop on ‘Exploring Maths for Digital India’ organized by Sparc Wing of Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation at Brahmakumaris, Gyan-Vigyan Bhawan, Derawal Nagar, Delhi on November 22, 2017. The session was facilitated by Dr.Aditi Singhal, Dr.Sudhir Singhal and Sister B.K. Lata. From comprehending the reasons behind Maths Phobia among students and under achievement in Maths to effective solutions to ignite students’ interest for passionate concept grasping, the workshop dished out an unforgettable learning experience for the teachers.

A detailed discussion was also held on multiple joys of learning mathematics, smart maths for smart generation, assessment through plickers.com and application of the software ‘Geogebra’ for senior school students. Infusion of myriad recreational activities along with the discussions spiced up the session.

The workshop concluded with a talk on Virtue theorem from Zero to Infinity by Sister B.K. Lata who emphasised upon the importance of moral education, values and meditation in life. The teachers greatly appreciated the takeaways of the session and were eager to implement them to see the difference.
