An online interactive session with Dr. Padma Y. Fisher (Senior Research Scientist, Space Science Institute, California) was organized on August 10, 2017 on the theme ‘The Total Solar Eclipse, 2017’ in the school premises. A total of 40 students from class VII B and 5 students from class XI attended the session wherein they were apprised that North America would observe a total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. Dr. Padma shared a presentation with the students containing the details about eclipses, types of eclipses, their occurrence, special features of August 2017 Solar Eclipse, advantages and disadvantages of Solar Eclipse, the solar corona, polarization, etc. It was a highly informative session as queries of the children were answered and their knowledge acquired new vistas. The session concluded with inspiring messages by the eminent scientist.
