“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world……”

Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service or volunteerism enables students to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it the most.

Keeping the same in mind, the students of class III A were taken to an old age home- ‘Kamla Bakshi Vanaprastha Ashram’ situated in Rohini on April 25, 2018. The students had prepared different presentations on tourism, food, dresses, monuments, famous personalities and dance of Jammu and Kashmir. The students in one of the groups dressed up like Kashmiri people to demonstrate its culture to the senior citizens and another group presented a dance on a very famous song ‘Bhoomro Bhoomro.’

The group representing Kashmiri cuisine brought ‘Dum Aloo’ and ‘Modur Pulav’ for the elderly people. They enjoyed interacting and singing rhymes for the elders in chorus. It was a great learning experience for the little kids.
