“Art has the power to transform, illuminate, educate, inspire and motivate.”

Art as a medium of expression is liberating and unfettering as it provides an outlet to release our overwhelming energies on a canvas. A discourse on History of Art along with activities like creative calligraphy, figurative as well as stick drawing story illustrations, sketching provide them with the insights on art form, texture, tone, line and space.

The careful integration of aesthetics and creativity into the framework of the mainstream school curriculum is indispensable. Despite its underlying function of nurturing students’ creative expression, it allows them to surrender to the unanticipated possibilities of the work as it unfolds, rendering them the ability to fashion multiple perspectives and see beyond the superficial. We, at Goenka, foster such capacities in our students through their involvement in activities such as Mosaics, Paper mache, Painting and Craft.

Pottery is yet another platform for the aesthetic expression of students which imbues them with sterling human qualities of patience, hard work and perseverance to yield fruitful results. The therapeutic effect of pottery making directs energies in a productive pursuit.
